2002 Star Chefs And Vintners Gala
The Meals On Wheels Gala is San Francisco's epicurean event of the year. Guests are treated to dinner by an array of world-renowned Bay Area chefs, together with a live auction to benefit the City's homebound seniors. Each year the Meals On Wheels Gala event is the primary fundraiser for the organization. Avantgarde partnered with Meals On Wheels in 2002 to update the gala’s identity and design all of the supporting collateral and advertising.

Sunny Delight
Our approach was to lighten and brighten the event’s palette matching it to the early summer season. We also selected design elements that widely appeal to the wine and food crowds such as the pale stripes, fresh green stars and earthy warm type. The designs were implemented in a variety of printed pieces and in local magazine and newspaper advertisements.

As a result the “2002 Star Chefs & Vintners Gala” event exceeded Meals On Wheels expectations. The Gala and auction raised more than $440,000 for San Francisco’s homebound senior citizens.
